3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
Not many people know that I was a Physics major for the first year and a half of my university studies. I loved seeing how our whole universe, from atoms to galaxies, work together mathematically. It strengthened my faith in God because I found it hard to believe that what I was studying could happen by accident. There had to be an intelligent design for everything to work together the way it does!
And to think that not only is there a great God behind the creation I was studying, but I get to call Him “Dad!”
David had a similar experience looking at the land and sky around him. In Psalm 8, he couldn’t help but burst out in praises and wonder that he could know the God who created it all!
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
The God who created the atoms and galaxies knows your name. He loves you and went to hell and back for you. He holds the galaxies together and He holds you in the palm of His hand.
Reflection: What part of God’s creation leaves you in awe of who He is?
